Gunite is a mixture of cement and sand that is combined with water at the nozzle and sprayed onto contoured and supported surfaces to build a pool. Exceptionally strong, Gunite can achieve strengths of 6000 to 7000 PSI, two times the strength of cast in place concrete. Gunite has been used in the construction of swimming pools for over 30 years and has been used in the construction of Olympic competition pools.
